Opening Day Ceremonies MOVED to Sunday

DUES TO THE WEATHER FORECAST FOR SATURDAY, OPENING DAY HAS BEEN MOVED TO SUNDAY.

The crack of the bat and the cheers of the crowd are just around the corner as the Elmer Little League prepares to celebrate its annual Opening Day this Saturday, April 12th. With a rich history dating back to its founding in 1952, the league is set to continue time-honored traditions while introducing exciting new elements for the community to enjoy. The day's festivities will commence with the beloved Player Parade, stepping off promptly at 10:30 AM from Elmer Borough Hall. Young athletes, brimming with anticipation for the season ahead, will proudly march down to the Elmer Little League complex at Rotary Field, conveniently located on RR 40 next to the Elmer Diner. Upon arrival at the fields, the Opening Ceremonies will officially begin. Attendees can expect an enthusiastic introduction of all the league's teams and their dedicated coaches, followed by a moving rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner. Key figures in the Elmer community will also be present to share their support for the young players. League President Tom Ainslie will address the crowd, offering his welcoming remarks for the season. The ceremony will also include special recognitions for individuals who have contributed to the league. Building on the success of last year, the Vendor Booths will return, showcasing the vibrant spirit of Elmer's local businesses and valued league sponsors. Families and attendees will have the opportunity to browse their offerings, gather information, and maybe even snag some giveaways. This provides a fantastic platform for the community to connect with the businesses that support the Little League. Adding to the excitement this year will be a host of engaging activities for children and families. American Bounce will be providing bounce house attractions, promising hours of fun for the younger attendees. The atmosphere will be lively with music playing throughout the day, and local food trucks will be on-site, offering a variety of delicious treats and meals to keep everyone energized. The league will also be using the event as an opportunity for fundraising and community support. They will be selling tickets for their annual Phillies game outing, a popular event for league families and supporters. Additionally, the equipment exchange will be back, providing a valuable service for families in need of baseball gear and a chance for others to donate gently used equipment. A brand-new addition to this year's Opening Day is the inaugural Basket Auction. Featuring an impressive array of 28 themed baskets, attendees can purchase tickets for a chance to win these creatively curated prizes. This promises to be a fun and engaging way to support the league while potentially taking home some fantastic items. Let’s not forget the main event on the field! The excitement will continue into the afternoon as the league’s baseball and softball divisions take to the diamonds. Games are scheduled to kick off at 12:30 PM and will run until 6:00 PM, providing plenty of action for fans to enjoy as the season officially gets underway. With such a diverse range of activities planned, this year's Elmer Little League Opening Day is guaranteed to be a memorable event for the entire community. The league has thoughtfully organized a day that celebrates the spirit of youth sports, community involvement, and local businesses. Organizers have stated that the event will proceed rain or shine. However, in the event of extreme weather conditions, the Opening Day will be rescheduled for the following day, Sunday, April 13th. Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 12th, and come out to Rotary Field to support the Elmer Little League as they embark on another exciting season!
